Nuggets of wisdom are everywhere. If we slow down and take time to examine things, we will find bits of wisdom in the most unusual places and at the most unusual times. As I was completing a household chore, the question posted above flashed across my mind. I wasn’t consciously seeking it, but it appeared, seemingly out of nowhere. Since it appeared, I took a moment to reflect on it. It reminded me of a verse I learned earlier in my life.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil; for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. (Taken from the KJV of the Bible.)
This verse reminds me that if we listen to a person long enough and watch his behaviors over a span of time, we will discover that person’s true self. Truth is so powerful that it has a way of seeping through deception, given time.
Knowing this, it is wise to take time to listen to and observe a person carefully. If you do, you won’t have to work at guessing what type fruit tree he is, his speech and behaviors will do the work for you.
